Shout out to Grindhouse MMA
First, a little review of the weekend. on Saturday, Daddis Fight Camps hosted a UFC 111 viewing party at their Philly gym on the corner of 17th and Washington Sts. There was a strong turn out, and watching the fights on the big screen with people that know what the hell’s going on in the cage is awesome. This may become a regular event, so if your in the city, drop in on Brad’s place and watch some ultimate fighting. On Sunday Brandt from MMA Opinion and I visited The Grindhouse, Jerry Bradley’s gym in Feasterville PA. We were there to do 2 photo shoots, one with the guys from Grindhouse, and one with MAMMA’s girls. Unfortunately, two of the girls decided we weren’t cool enough to hang out with. But we do want to send a lot of love to Sugako who came out and dealt with all our shenanigans for a couple hours. Look for some shots coming to you very soon.

The Philadelphia MMA Expo is coming to town this weekend. The event, presented by HDNet Fights is sharing space with the Philly Wellness Expo, which features strong man, arm wrestling, powerlifting and cheerleading…stuff. But the MMA Expo is the main event. The show space features two full sized cages, a boxing ring, a large mat for USA Karate, and I’m guessing an area around 90′ x 60′ for the OTM grappling tournaments. [Click here for floor map]

With the holidays now a fading memory, we can once again realign our focus on the world of mixed martial arts. The new year shepherds in a new event with the Philadelphia MMA Expo. The guest list includes Matt Hamill, Dan Severn, and the Miglarese brothers. Gi & No Gi tournaments along with a two day long judges and referees seminar on the calendar as well.
The Expo is a two day thing, doors open at 10 am both days with tickets running for $20 a day, or $35 for the weekend.
