Evolution AMMA‘s second show MMA Madness went down last night at the Union County Performing Arts Center in Rahway NJ. Jose Suarez and matchmaker Steven Katz are making a push to be a feeder league into the region’s top flight amateur leagues. The formula of putting young, rookie fighters together is a bit of a witches brew. No shows and miss matches are bound to happen at a higher rate, but the chance to see explosive young fighters more than makes up for the occasional miss match. That being said, 8 of 13 scheduled fights did jump off last night, conspicuously absent was Tajuddin Abdul-Hakim (5-1) vs Rustam Chsiev (debut). However, only three of those eight fights went to the judges, which is well above the 50% finish rate that (typically) makes for a show. And Noel Arcibal treated fans in North Jersey to an 11 second KO over Ariel Solano. I’ll try to find that video for you guys.
Now, for the 37th time, the following results are official as submitted by the NJSACB.
Officials
Referees: Dave Tirelli and Keith Peterson
Judges: Gasper Oliver, Tom Olson and Henry Krawiec
Timekeeper: Anthony Lynn
Scorekeeper: Ellen Rubin

Burrell, 60 day suspension plus indefinite suspension pending orthopedic exam of right thumb.
Fight 2

29-28 x2 and Judge Olson 29-27.
Fight 3

Fight 4
Generoso Spagnuolo d. Edison Daniel via submission due to RNC at 2:47 of round 1.
Fight 5
Pat Sullivan d. Pablo Zambrano via majority decision.
29-28 x2, 29-29.
Fight 6
Bobby Ascolillo d. Jose Perez via submission due to RNC at :43 of round 1.
Fight 7
Noel Arcibal d. Ariel Solano via KO at :11 of round 1.
Fight 8
Alex Bruzzese d. Ben Syers via unanimous decision.
29-28 on all cards.
If I’m a door to door RNC defense salesman, I’m making tracks for Union County tomorrow. Three rear naked stops out of four submission finishes. But overall, looks like a pretty good night of fights up there in North Jersey. The fights were broadcast live for free at Go Fight Live, and will be on archive Monday afternoon.
