The UFC isn’t wasting time getting Phil Davis on a fight card. Davis will be making his big show debut on February 6th at UFC 109: Relentless against former WEC 205 pound champion Brian Stann. The match-up is set to split Pennsylvania’s allegiances as Davis was born and raised in Harrisburg and Stann is from Scranton.
Stann (8-2) is 2-1 since getting brought up to the UFC from the WEC and will be fighting on 3 months rest. His last bout was a decision victory over Rodney Wallace at the TUF Heavyweight finals on Dec 5th. In September at UFC 97, he avenged his first loss which came to Steve Cantwell at WEC 35.
Davis has been out of action since a first round RNC victory over David Bagget in June. And while his name is kicked around as a possible main eventer for ever pro fight here in the region, this will be the first officially announced fight for Phil in over six months.
Stann vs Davis is an undercard match on 109, which is being main evented by Randy Couture vs Mark Coleman. Fight’s scheduled for February 6th from Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas.
