Eddie Alvarez apparently will not be fighting at Dream’s FiELDS Dynamite!! New Years Eve show this year. The event, a co-promoted show between Dream and Sengoku is one of the biggest MMA events on the Japanese calendar. Some fans of the Japanese game, along with HDNet Fights’ Michael Shiavello speculated that Dream would give Eddie Alvarez his rematch with Lightweight champion Shinya Aoki on that show. This was after Alvarez defeated Katsunori Kikuno a couple weeks ago. Then Aoki was in Chicago for Strikeforce‘s Fedor vs Rogers and a more educated rumor came out that Aoki would be fighting in the United States this spring. That leaves Eddie without a dance partner for New Years. Of course, no fights have been officially announced, but what fun is the internet if you can’t speculate? Fights that have been confirmed for Dynamite!!, according to MMA Convert, include Kazayuki Fujita vs Strikeforce heavyweight champion Alistair Overeem and Minowaman vs Sokoudjou in the Super Hulk Final Match. The main event is a long anticipated match up of Olympic caliber judo players with Satoshi Ishii vs Hidehiko Yoshida. Kid Yamamoto and Akihiro Gono are also scheduled for the main card which is being promoted as Dream vs Sengoku.
