2 UFC Ring Girls Released

Pro MMA Info has an interesting theory as to why UFC ring girls Natasha Wix and Logan Stanton were released from their contract after UFC 107.

I’m not a huge fan of ring girls. Ring girls are like Hooters girls, and Hooters girls just make me uncomfortable. But, as the unified rules stipulate that there must be ring cards, and someone to walk around with them between frames, they are here to stay. The UFC ring girls, however, have attained a very bizarre level of fame, which is to say we actually know who they are. No other fight promotion, MMA or boxing, makes a big deal out of their ring girls.

Since I’ve already gone on about ring girls more than I wanted to, I might as well explain. Half the MMA shows I’ve gone to have been as a photographer. And when the pictures go online, its always and invariably the photos of the ring girls that get the most attention. So I know that I have to take those pictures, but how many pictures of girls in bikinis can you take before you turn into a pervert? I haven’t been able to answer that question yet.

Anyway, for what its worth, it is at least moderately interesting that Natasha and Logan were cut after an event Arianny Celeste, who is the unofficial captain of the UFC Bikini Team, didn’t attend. Pro MMA Info seems to think this is a case of “when the cat’s away, the mice will play”. But I don’t know if Arianny actually acts like a den mother for the other girls or not.
