MMA Now Regulated in Mass

MMA Frenzy (and I’m sure a gabillion other outlets) are reporting that Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick signed in a bill legalizing the sport of mixed martial arts.

UFC President and Boston native, Dana White has been a very vocal supporter of MMA in New England, and has recently announced plans to throw the first major venue outdoor MMA show at Fenway Park. Pure speculation, considering the proclamation came before this bill was passed.

According to Dana’s twitter:

Gov Deval patrick just signed the MMA bill in Mass!!! I am so excited words can not decribe! Here we come Boston!! NY is next!!

This leaves the state of New York as the only hold out in the US. And recently, former NYSAC Commissioner Randy Gordon came out in favor of regulating the sport. Tribal councils in the state are running shows under their own jurisdiction.

Dana White is also eyeballing Toronto.

Think about where we started. One state to go then Ontario!!!

This is the latest evidence that mixed martial arts has gone main stream. Its all downhill from here, boys.
